Software for food truck and street food events
Updated 10 October 2026
A street food event is a lineup of small kitchens. Every vendor needs power or gas, water and waste arrangements, food registration and insurance — and every truck has a footprint that has to fit somewhere with a queue in front of it. The paperwork per vendor is heavier than any other kind of market, and the layout leaves no room for surprises.
Every vendor is a compliance file
Food registration, public liability, often gas compliance and test-and-tag evidence — for every truck, every event. Venues and councils can ask to see any of it, and the answer "it's somewhere in my email" doesn't satisfy an environmental health officer.
Layout is a technical drawing
Trucks have lengths, serving sides and power draws. Getting them in, out and positioned so queues don't block each other is decided on paper first — and every vendor needs to know their position and arrival time before they're on the road.
Fewer vendors, higher stakes
A twelve-truck event that loses two vendors on the day loses a sixth of its offering. Confirmed, paid bookings and a waitlist matter more here than at a market with eighty stalls.
How StallsApp fits a food truck or street food event
- Food registration and insurance at application
- Require food registration and the application collects it alongside insurance, with expiry dates. Documents stay with the vendor's record for when someone asks.
- Questions for the technical details
- Ask for truck dimensions, power requirements and gas use as application questions — the answers are on hand when you plan the layout and in your CSV export.
- Priced stall types
- Charge differently for a powered truck site, an unpowered site or a marquee, shown to vendors when they apply.
- Site assignment on your floorplan
- Assign each paid booking its position, and the day-before email tells every vendor where they're going.
- Paid, confirmed bookings
- Approval opens a payment window; unpaid holds go to the waitlist automatically, so a gap is filled while there's still time.
Setting it up
- Create your event — one-off, or recurring for a regular street food night.
- Turn on food registration.
- Add application questions for dimensions, power and gas.
- Add stall types for powered and unpowered sites.
- Connect Stripe so vendors pay to confirm.
- Lay out the site and assign positions once bookings are paid.

Questions organisers ask
Does StallsApp check that a vendor's food registration is valid?
No. StallsApp stores the document and expiry date the vendor provided and shows them to you; confirming that a registration is genuine and current is the organiser's responsibility, as with any software.
Can I sell entry tickets to the event?
Yes — every plan includes ticketing with QR scanning at the gate. Many street food events stay free to enter; the option is there if yours doesn't.
Can vendors update their documents when they renew?
Yes. Vendors keep their own profile and documents up to date from their portal, so a renewed certificate replaces the old one without an email to you.
