Software for flea, vintage and car boot markets

Updated 10 October 2026

Flea markets, vintage fairs and car boot sales run on volume: lots of sellers, many of them first-timers clearing out a garage, paying a modest fee for a spot. The organiser's problem isn't curation — it's throughput. Taking bookings, collecting fees and knowing who'll actually show up, without spending the week before on the phone.

Most sellers are casual

A big share of sellers trade once or twice a year. They don't want an account, a long application or a wait for approval — they want to know if there's a spot, pay for it and turn up. Every extra step costs you bookings.

No-shows are the margin

When stalls are cheap, an unpaid booking costs the seller nothing to abandon — and costs you a gap in the rows. Payment up front is what turns "probably coming" into a stall you can plan around.

The regulars keep it going

Behind the casuals sit the vintage dealers and collectors who come every time. They deserve the good spots and a faster path — and the attendance record to prove who's reliable.

How StallsApp fits a flea, vintage or car boot market

Instant booking
Switch the market to instant booking and approved sellers confirm a date straight away, without waiting for you to approve each request.
Payment confirms the stall
Sellers pay by card from an email link; unpaid holds lapse after your payment window and go to the waitlist. Card payments settle to your own Stripe account.
Book on behalf
For the regular who still rings up, add the booking yourself — it lands in the same list as everyone else's.
Check-in and no-shows
Mark sellers as arrived on the day sheet and record no-shows as you walk the rows. Attendance history tells you, months later, who deserves the corner spot.
Message everyone trading today
Gate moved, early close, storm coming — send one message to every seller booked for the day, by email or SMS.

Setting it up

  1. Create a recurring market for regular sales, or a one-off for an annual fair.
  2. Keep the application short — add only the questions you'll actually use.
  3. Add stall types: a car space, a trestle site, a double site.
  4. Switch booking to instant once you're happy with who's approved.
  5. Connect Stripe so payment is what confirms a stall.
  6. Use the day sheet on your phone for check-in.

Questions organisers ask

Do sellers have to be approved before they can book?

Sellers apply once and you approve them. After that, with instant booking on, they can book dates without waiting for you each time.

Do casual sellers need insurance?

That's set by your venue, council and insurer. Some markets require each seller to carry public liability cover — casual traders often buy per-market cover — and StallsApp can collect the certificate at application.

Can I still take cash at the gate?

Yes. Mark a booking as paid in cash and it sits alongside the card payments, so your totals stay accurate.
